Privacy Policy

Effective 3 November 2026 · covers the apps published by DSM Enterprises — currently Perk: Coffee Brewing on iOS.

The short version: Perk collects nothing. It has no account system, no server and no analytics; Perk itself makes no network calls — purchases go through Apple's App Store. Everything you put into it — your coffees, your gear, your brew history — is stored on your phone and nowhere else. There is nothing to sell, nothing to share and nothing for us to lose, because we never receive it.

What Perk stores, and where

Perk keeps its data in your phone's own local storage, and — in the iOS app — mirrors it into the device's native storage so the operating system cannot evict it under storage pressure. That data includes:

None of it is transmitted anywhere. Perk has no server to send it to.

What Perk never does

These are not aspirations. They are properties of the code, and the app's own build checks them.

The camera

Perk can read the label on a coffee bag — from the camera, or from a photo you choose — to fill in its details: the origin, the variety, the process, the roast level and the roast date. That recognition happens on your device, using the operating system's own text recognition. The photo is never uploaded, never stored and never kept. If you do not use the bag scan, the camera is never touched.

Getting your data out, and deleting it

Your data is yours, and it leaves only when you send it. Settings offers an export that produces a plain JSON file, which opens in the iOS share sheet — you choose where it goes. The same screen imports a file back. Perk never sees either file.

To delete everything, delete the app. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing left to request, correct or forget. Deleting a single brew from your log removes it from the log; your history is otherwise never edited behind your back.

Purchases

The web version is free to use today. When Perk launches on the App Store it will be free to start, with a full-feature trial of five brews and a one-time unlock afterwards — no subscription. To check the unlock, Perk asks StoreKit on your phone whether the unlock is owned; nothing about the purchase leaves your phone or reaches us — Apple handles payment and reports sales to us only in aggregate. The trial count is kept on your device by design, because there is no server to validate it against, and we would rather trust you than build the infrastructure that surveils you. Your pantry and your brew history stay readable forever, whether or not you unlock.

This website

This site ships no JavaScript, sets no cookies, and runs no analytics. It is a set of static pages.

One honest exception, which applies to every website on the internet: the site is served by Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare keeps standard infrastructure request logs — such as the IP address a request came from — in order to serve it. That is the host's logging, not ours, it is not connected to the app in any way, and we do not receive or read it.

Children

Perk collects no personal data from anyone, so there is no child's data to collect either. The app is rated for all ages.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes, this page changes first, and the effective date above moves with it. A change that altered what the app collects would also be stated in the app itself. The app's Settings screen shows which build you are running, so you can always tell what you have.
